Rather not do your taxes? Free tax preparation, by experienced staff, will be available from now until April 15 throughout Eastern Connecticut.

More than 12,000 free tax preparation sites will be open nationwide this year as the Internal Revenue Service continues to expand its partnerships with nonprofit and community organizations performing vital tax preparation services for low-income and elderly taxpayers.

If you have access to a computer and the Internet you may be eligible to prepare and file your 2006 federal tax return electronically — for free. Free File is an easy way to file your taxes and get your refund in half the time.
