With tax season just around the corner, a New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service publication has been revised to remind agriculture producers to be aware of various taxes that affect their operation.

There may be time to cut your income tax bill and either owe less or get a larger refund next year. Let’s start with the most obvious: investments that have lost money.

So you should do some calculations to see if that or itemizing will save you more money.

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome; you do not need to be an AARP member or retiree to volunteer. Some experience in preparing tax returns on a computer is desirable.
